1. Can I use my credit card to pay real estate taxes?

The only forms of payments that are accepted are check (personal or certified), cash or money order. No credit cards are accepted.

2. How can I pay my taxes?

You can pay your taxes in person at the Treasurer's office located in the Shaler Township Municipal building at:
300 Wetzel Road
Glenshaw, PA 15116

Your tax payment can also be dropped in the white mailbox right within the first set of glass doors at the Township Office. Residents can access this mailbox at any time, even when the office is closed. You can also mail them to the above address.

3. Is the postmark accepted as on time?

Yes.

4. How do I receive a receipt?

If paying in person a receipt will be issued to you at the time of your payment. If paying by mail, you must include a self-addressed stamped envelope with your payment for a receipt.

5. How is my assessment determined?

The Allegheny County Office of Property Assessments is responsible for individual parcels. If you wish to challenge your assessments, you must file an appeal with Allegheny County. For more information, please visit the Allegheny County Court Records website.
