Shaler Area Homecoming Parade 

Mt Royal Blvd Restrictions

Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM

Shaler Area School District will be celebrating their annual homecoming festivities Saturday, Sept. 30 throughout the 1800 – 2200 blocks of Mt Royal Blvd.  Mt. Royal Blvd will be closed to all through traffic between Vilsack/Kleber Roads and Wetzel Road from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM.  All cross streets in that area will have closed and/or restricted access to Mt. Royal Blvd.   Please use an alternate route when traveling through this area.

Notes of potential interest:

  • Access to the Mt. Royal Shopping Plaza will remain open to SHOPPERS ONLY.  Parking is not permitted to those attending the Homecoming Activities.  All patrons exiting the parking lot will be directed south onto Mt. Royal Blvd.  Parking privileges will be monitored and enforced by Shaler Township Police.

  • Northbound traffic on Mt. Royal Blvd. to that area will be redirected to Glenshaw Ave or Wetzel Rd.  Southbound traffic to that area will be redirected to Kleber Rd.

  • All students and organizations participating in the homecoming parade are to arrive at the St. Bonaventure Church no later than 10:00 AM.  All access to that area will be closed at that time.

  • Police and Public Safety personnel will be positioned throughout the area to assist and direct motorists with detour information.

  • RECOMMENDED PARKING will be Kiwanis Park. A shuttle Bus will run on a continuous basis between Kiwanis Park and Mount Royal Blvd.
