Shaler Township is a residential community located in the North Hills, minutes from downtown Pittsburgh.  It is bordered by the communities of Hampton, Ross, Millvale, Indiana, Etna, Reserve, Sharpsburg and O'Hara.

Covering 10.5 square miles of land and with a population of approximately 29,000, Shaler Township has many assets.  Primarily, a residential community, its' close proximity (less than 6 miles) to downtown Pittsburgh, world class universities, premier health care systems and cultural and recreational facilities make Shaler Township an attractive community in which to live and conduct business.

Shaler Township offers its' residents an exceptional level of service with a full time police department, emergency medical services, six volunteer fire companies, a full service public works department and its' own water plant and distribution system.  These services, complimented with a variety of recreation opportunities for walking, hiking and youth activities and a Township supported outstanding public library.  Shaler Township is located within the Shaler Area School District.
