February 5, 2014 The Shaler Township Police Department celebrates our 85th Annivesary.
The Township of Shaler Board of Commissioners enacted Ordinance # 192 on February 5, 1929 creating the Township of Shaler Police
Department that employed no more than (2) two Police Officers at that time. Today there are (26) twenty-six full-time Police Officers.
The Shaler Township Police Department is commanded by Police Chief Bryan B. Kelly. Our department is community and service oriented. The department is staffed twenty-four hours a day by a staff of twenty-six sworn officers including one Deputy Chief, four Sergeants, three Detectives, and seventeen Patrolmen. The Chief is assisted by a part-time civilian Administrative Assistant and a part-time civilian Records Clerk.
Within the department officers serve in many capacities.
